Life in a Time of Corona: Letters from the Ledge – Day 9

Saturday – 4 April – 10:39am

I’m starting today’s entry really late because frankly, I don’t know what to write about anymore. I’m definitely running out of inspiration and writing stamina at this point. I can feel the toll that the daily entries are taking on my mind and how demanding they are of my time so I’m starting to think that I was really overambitious thinking that I could keep this going for 21 days straight.

I’m considering switching tact by finishing off at 10 letters and creating something design and/or illustration inspired for the remaining 10 days, keeping the last day for a recap. Watch this space to see what the next challenge is going to be!

Since I need a bit of inspiration, I’m excited to be busy with a few things that are going to push me outside of my comfort zone today or are things that I haven’t worked on in a while:

Amongst other goals for today, I plan to…

– venture into some HTML/PHP coding language as I try to action things on my site that I’ve been putting off for months (hopefully, I don’t break anything. lol)

– practice and learn more Spanish (Hola, mi nombre es Kris y soy diseñadora grafica y escritora de Cape Town 😀 …not googled, I swear! I hope that what I said is correct. My Spanish is rusty. lol)

– work on a Behance graphic design project that I started before the lockdown, but haven’t been able to get to since

A few people I know have been pushing themselves outside of their comfort zones during this time by exploring new hobbies or interests such as cooking, baking, drawing, learning an instrument, studying something via an online course, coming up with creative craft ideas to entertain the kids or discovering a love of gardening.

What is keeping you busy during this time? Are you exploring new hobbies/interests or just using it to focus on introspection, inner peace and loving the ones you’re with? Pop me a message below or on the Creative On A Ledge Instagram or Facebook page and let’s chat about it.

Be safe. Stay strong. Stay home.

Kris
